In collaboration with the Hirschvogel Group, MSTVision supported the evaluation of challenging industrial machine vision applications. The focus was particularly on inspection tasks involving high process speeds and the reliable analysis of highly reflective surfaces—requirements where established machine vision solutions often reach their limits.
Together, the teams evaluated various approaches based on photometric stereo, including the PS Line Scan solution with the PS Line Light and PS Advanced with a matrix camera. The results already demonstrated very promising possibilities for robust surface inspection. Another potential solution discussed was a setup combining dome lighting and a line scan camera, which could enable a balanced combination of speed, image quality, and cost-effectiveness.
The collaboration is characterized by an open, constructive technical exchange and a shared practical understanding. The expertise of both parties complements each other: Hirschvogel brings in-depth experience from demanding manufacturing and inspection processes, while MSTVision contributes its expertise in the design of innovative image processing and lighting solutions. This enables the two companies to jointly analyze specific requirements, evaluate suitable technologies, and develop future-proof solutions.
